For those of you who've put in springs, is the ride noticeably harsher? I feel that w/ the stock 17's the ride is already pretty "responsive" (borderline for the wife). Are the springs slightly worse, same, or better? I guess the only options we have are for the Eibachs?

It'll get worse... much worse. So if it's borderline for your wife, this will definitely go under that line. Just my $.02...

I bought H&R lowering springs for my car with 18 inch wheels. The H&R springs, I guess, are supposed to be softer than Eibach. Even with the H&R springs it is rough. I can't imagine what it would be like with the Eibach springs. I like the rough ride but I know for sure your wife probably won't like it

your wife?

is the car your wife's or yours?.... my wife has her car a stock accord V6 EX, she likes it just like it is... my Max... well I do what ever I want to it (with in reason). when I wanted to lower it with sport springs... I did... then I put 18" rims with 40 series tires... is it stiff yeah.. could it be stiffer hell yeah... and if my wife doesn't like the ride... well... she has a choice we ride in my lowered car or.... we take her pretty and comfy Accord... If your wife doesn't have a car... well just B.S. her and tell her that you are doing it for safety.. handling and braking... you know you are thinking about her adn her safety.... might just work. but there are comprimises in life... and this is NOT one of them.... DO IT....

Lowering Srings= Bronco Ride

If you live in an area with rough, bumpy roads better get a good sadle, its a Bronco ride. If it's smooth, then is OK.
The looks are "nice"; anyway, I still have my mix feelings with them,I dont know if a car like the Maxima with luxury
looks and being a full size four door blends with a drop look. Sherwood Green,SE A/T Stillen YPipe,Stillen Highflow Filter, Stillen Sway Bar, Eibach Pro Kit.

I just thought I would write to remind you of how your maxima kicks ***. I have one just like it but I am just getting started with the upgrades if you have any suggestions I would like to hear them.

Thank you for the compliment. If you want to drop me an email with specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

Here is the order in which I would go with given a second chance...

1) VB recalibration
2) FSTB
3) RSB
4) Springs
5) CAI
6) Y pipe (I want )
7) Wheels (tires included, I want)
8) Kit
9) RSTB (if I have the mod itch)
-----
10) SC (if it's available)
12) Torque Converter (if you have the cash)
13) Level 10 tranny rebuild (when your tranny blows)

Does H&R make OE sports springs for 2k SE? I like firmer ride but I don't like the idea of lowering too much. I have to live with many bumps and potholes.

Nope, i called them a few weeks ago to inqure about the same thing. The rep i spoke with did assure me that the sport springs they make for the Max were designed to work with the factory struts/shocks and that replacing them was not necessary...? No one has these yet, and i'm curious to know how true that is...

Hmm...
I'm even thinking Cattman's coil overs just because of all the comotion with springs and shock compatibility.
:P

crazy huh ?

Exactly, 1.7 isn't extreme but it's certainly getting there. I have a hard time believing, no matter what the spring rate is, that those stock struts can't possible handle such a drop too well.

The coilovers probably are the best option, they just cost so damn much.

well...i have eibach springs and 17 inch wheel/tire combo on my Y2K Maxima. at first i didn't really notice the harshness of the ride(i guess i was just too damn happy to notice anything at the time) but recently i think the ride is getting harsh even more so. certainly has to do with my tires since they are almost worn out(Toyo Proxies FTZ4 225/45/17)....they are good tires...i've had them for about 20,000 miles and still good chunk of rubber left.
well, if it were up to me, i would definitely lower the car. just hope i can lower my car just little bit more(1 inch drop does not even make your car look lowered....).

I have a 2k max with stock shocks and eibach springs. Whenever my shop was ordering my springs for me the guy at Eibach told him that they now have shocks for the 2k max. As for the ride. I don't think it is to bad. I know this is the opposite of what everyone else said but after a month or two it seems like the ride is a little smoother. Maybe i am just used to it now.
