I'm wondering if Nissan's splash guards matches the
body color?

One of the "extra" features on the 2001 20th AE are painted mud guards. They can also be purchased at Nissan Parts.

Thanks for the info. I guess those are the ones that
cost 94 dollars from dealer?

If you buy the splash guards, do they come in only black? or can you get them to match your car?
I'm wondering cuz some Altimas have body colored and some have black.

They come in regular black and pre-painted colors. The ones for the AE only come in the pre-painted colors. You may notice that the pre-painted ones are a tad lighter than your car. I noticed this on a Sunlit Sand, and a Sterling Mist, but the Icelandic Pearl ones I have match pretty closely. The Sunlit Sand one wasn't too noticeable either, but you could kinda tell that it was just a tad light. The Sterling Mist one was noticably lighter.

Eortiz, I had the black ones but just sold them. They didn't look so hot on a white car, but the styling was pretty nice just to have them on there. It changed the contours of the car. When I got the AE kit, I put on the pre-painted ones and they look good. I don't have any pics yet though.

I requested mine to be painted when I picked up the car for delivery. It looks great IMO.

I've found this dealer site to be much cheaper, as well as reputable.

https://ssl.autocenter.net/webparts/...n_Parts_3.html

They sell Nissan and Subaru parts (wife has a Forester), along with others. They are actual dealers, with the same parts, but cheaper. If a part is not listed on the site, call their 800 number - I saved something like $30 on a set of Icelandic Pearl splash guards (which match the vehicle pretty closely, btw).

Couldn't find splash guards on the site, you saved around 30? how much were they total?

You'll have to look under 2001 model year to find them. The 2000 and 2001 should take the exact same splash guard (somebody correct me if I'm wrong).

The painted ones were like 88 or 92 dollars for all four (you have to order a front and rear set). The local dealer was like 120.

They actually screw on. The front ones are extremely easy - just remove those black 'stone guard' things from the fender well and the splash guards screw right on.

The rear ones are a bit more hair-raising because you have to drill the bumper. However, it's fairly fool-proof: you just just the drill bit sizes that they say and use the "dimples" that are already on the bumper/fender well to drill into. I was scared at first, just knowing I'd screw it up, but it was about a 45 minute job (for all 4), and went just like the instructions said.

Don't be afraid to try it, and certainly don't pay the dealer to do it!

With the rear ones I had to remove my rear tires. I couldn't
reach the lower dimples with my drill.

Does anyone have pix of how they clip on? If I get Nissan to do it how much would it cost? I could borrow a friend's drill, but I'd probably screw up...

I don't have a pic, but they should come with installation instructions. It's pretty easy to do, and I wouldn't waste money on having Nissan do it for you. Trust me on this one....If I can do it, so can you.

Maybe they changed it a bit on 01 models, because
on 00 models you had to drill it.

Take a toothbrush and that should take it off. If it doesn't, then take a mild solution of dishwashing detergent (e.g. Dawn) and scrub with that. But be careful not to get it on your paint, or it'll strip the polish/wax right off.

The drilling is only needed on the rear splash guards.
See the link I posted. I believe the instructions also
applies to 01 models.

You can always check your 01 car to see if the holes
are there.

Do you have to take off the front tires as well to install the front splash guards...??

Just turn the wheel all the way toward one direction so you have some working space.
