I was wondering why there are two 2000 service manuals? One for early models, one for late? Or is it based on the features? Was anything changed?

Also what do they cover? It's a lot of cash and they don't even let you see the index! I have a "passive restraint electronic service manual" for another vehicle that covers the connectors, wires and schematics but it's no help getting to the wires or with mechanical mods/repairs.

The manuals are separated by VIN numbers. Give Nissan your VIN and they'll supply you with the correct manual. The manuals cover everything on your car.

 

I'm not sure 100% but I think it's because many of the problems in the 00 Maxima were fixed half way through the 00 Production year...

 

So if I were to get the wrong service manual there would be a major difference?

 

There are actually two model years, 2000 and 2000.5
The 2000.5 started production November 1, 1999. This is actually stated in a TSB for I30s regarding the lens for the electroluminescent gauges, because a change was made in production. The early models had a daytime brightness adjustment ****, this was scrapped with the 2000.5 model. This is the only change I know of, I wish I had documentation stating all the other changes that were made at this point.
