Hey you Max lovers!!I just bought a set of 17" OEM chrome wheels for my 2k1 SE AE. They look Hottt!!!(Sorry no pics yet scanner is down). The only concern I have is that the center caps do not say "Nissan" on them like the factory ones have. Does anyone know if they are supposed to have the word Nissan on them or not?? I saw a pic of the chrome wheel on Ebay and I couldn't tell if the word "Nissan" was on them or not. But somebody on this forum had a pic of the chrome wheel with the word "nissan" on them!!!I will call the place where I got them from and ask them tomorrow about it. But if anyone knows beforehand please let me know!!Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are the center caps chrome or grey like the stock ones?

Yeah, you're right.....my stock ones are grey. But with my chrome factory wheels the center caps are chrome-plated just like the wheel. Same exact cap as the stock one, just in chrome and no "Nissan" anywhere on it.

it probably looks better than the stock grey cap/chrome rim combo.....

I saw someone in CT with the chrome 17" rims on thier car. the center cap had nissan in black letters. They might have put this on aftermarket. I didn't know that the rims came in chrome. I taught they dipped them.

I just spoke to the company where I bought my wheels from and they told me that's the way they sell them. They couldn't put the Nissan logo on because of copyright laws. So my next question is I payed $120 for the four chrome caps already but I really want the word "Nissan" too. Do you sell the caps separately? Or should I look for an engraving place to do it??What should I do??

It kinda looks crazy with a big chrome blank disc in the center especially since he wanted to maintain the oem look...... Here's a secret that I did when I got my 97 5spoke SE wheels chromed. Go and get the nissan emblem that goes into the grill of the 1st gen. altimas. The emblem has two posts on them that are plastic. Cut them off and file them down. Then take the sticker of the tape and stick it on. Vwolla! You have just made an oem cap. My distributor doesn't sell the caps seperately at this moment

Why would you BUY chrome stock 17" rims, when you car already had a polished almost chrome look anyways? Or is your car a look-alike AE? I think the AE rims are nice stock, EXCEPT for the grey center cap.

Was Ms. Kershaw your teacher? Ms. Williams was mine. You might ask what relevance does this have to me? None at all! Just thought you should know. She was really nice, she would give us fruit roll ups and capri suns. You guys act like you just got outta elem. school!
