Few days ago we were on Sunset Bl on our way home and what do u know, riced up Corolla with coffee can exhaust and 18 inchers pulls up next to us and revs engine. Then a C5 purple pace car edition Corvette pulls up next to the Corolla. This Corolla guy must be an idiot, he stares at the Corvette and revs his engine and laughs at him!

Light turns green and the Corvette floors it along with the Corolla...trying to teach this idiot a lesson my dad floors it too. We had no chance with the Corvette, within 5 seconds he was like 8 cars ahead. But the ricemobile was far behind us by that time...

Later that day a black current gen BMW 325i pulls up to us at a light right before an slight uphill slope that goes for about a mile or so. He was about at our rear door and gaining, then suddenly our car jumped foward and within 5 seconds he was 1 car behind..howd that happen? is that the whole 3rd gear thing you guys talk about?

If only my Dad would trust me with the Max

But every now and again you have to watch it. I have heard of sub 11 second stock bodied cars... I have even read about a sub 12 second Dodge Caravan! That 'vette may just have been in for a run.

This all goes to say, don't judge a book by it's cover. I give the guy in the Coralla kudos for having tried in the first place.

If you were my kid I would not trust you with my Max! (nothing personal)

Yeah actually I felt pretty bad for the Corolla, I looked in the sideview mirror and the driver looked really disappointed..

It may be best I stick to the Mercury

I've seen a video clip of a pretty fast Caravan...I can't imagine that there'd be more than one, so it's most likely the same one. Go to http://formen.ign.com/news/36570.html, and scroll down to "The Ultimate Sleeper". The Hardcore TV section of formen.ign.com is pretty cool, they usually have at least a few download-worthy video clips each week

My Dad has told me a lot of stories in my life, some of them about the races he had with friends back in the late 60s with Celicas, Datsuns, Opels and Bimmers...guess he still has some in him
