I have a automatic 2000 SE. I just now had the slippage problem corrected that people have been talking about. It runs like a totally different car. I am so amazed what a difference it made. From 1st to 2nd it shifts on a dime and even 2nd to 3rd also. I took it in to the dealership after reading the service bulletin about this problem. At first they told me it shifted fine, yes under slow circumstance. But before, if you would give it gas half way or more it would run up to almost 6K rpm before it even shifted or longer. I took the service manager for a test drive and showed him. He pulled up the service bulletin and ordered the parts to fix it. Since under warranty, it was free. Now, I still can not get over what a difference it has made. The parts they replaced were the (solenoid/sensor assembly and the A/T Control Unit)and other misc. which is all laid out on the Service Bulletin print out. The service Bulletin number is (NTB00-039a). I am serious, if you feel you are not getting all of the horses to the wheels and you feel a lot of free play or lack in response in the shifting on an automatic trans. Get it fixed, you will be shocked.
