Not at all...I have heard of people paying up to $300 for a good tint job. If they do good work, then $180 isn't a bad deal at all. Just my thoughts.

I paid 180 for mine and if color changes within a year he would redo it...all around and sunroof. I wish I had lifetime warranty. FloMax is right...for a good tint job it can go up to 300.

In the Seattle area I paid $240 for lifetime metallic tints.
Be sure and don't let them tint over the dot matrix at the top of your rear window, you'll loose AM radio reception.

I paid about $245 my tint job. The shop used Formula 1 tint and it came with a lifetime warranty nation wide.

My tint is over the dot matrix and it started to lift in that area. Doesn't look bad unless lookin really close. My AM works fine I thought it was the lines directly above the defogger lines?

Most of the time, tinted windows change to purple because people clean it with windex or some other window cleaner!! Just use water, the ammonia in cleaners reacts with the tint and changes its color.

I dont care what anyone says, $180 is WAY TOO MUCH.

I have the best of best tints on my car. MADICO Tint. I had my 5 Windows Done and the Sunroof Done for only ................ $115. Plus the whole rear window was done in ONE PIECE

If you all think my tint will peel or must have been done in very poor quality, then come on over to my house and see for yourself.

Tinting is about knowing how to do it and who does it right. Nothing to do with cost.

Hmmm... I think we did this thread 2 weeks ago. If the search engine worked, I would post the link.

Anyway...

I have metallic tint on the sides and regular smoke tint on the rear. I'm not happy with the way the tint shop handled the dots on the rear upper window though. I can see air pockets around each dot. You can't see it from a distance though. I paid $170 for mine. The sides are perfect.

Well all you people who think a $100 tint job on my car aint like a $300 tint job, why not meet me somewhere in DC.

Better yet, you can go to the tint shop i went to in Capital Heights. ATLANTIC WINDOW TINT. 301-333-0146

Go by there and see if their tint job does not exceed the quality of a $300 tint job.

I think that all of you are paying way to much for tint but then again, each state is different. I live in Hawaii and I got all my windows done with 12% tint including a 10" strip down the front windshield all for $110. Professional job done by one of the best on the island of Oahu and I've had other people look at it and they say that no else comes close to doing a good job. And most of you are paying upwards of $200 and $300 for just the sides and back? I say these people are ripping you off big time!! And I even live in one of the most expensive states around. Good luck to all in finding some good prices. Aloha!!

It really depends on your area though. Certain areas, everything is expensive.

If it is more than $100 at every place in your area,
what are you going to do drive around and find one?
If it's $180 to have it done in your area, that's what you pay. That's life! I'm not going to lose sleep over it!

Hey MysticalMax, mine will be done next week end and I got a pretty good deal for 180$ Canadian balone, which is about 110 - 115$ US. For any number of reasons it seems that it cost much less in Canada for tinted window( maybe the guy feed himself with dog chow and sleep in the park, he he he ).

Cheers

Am I going to drive to Florida to save $50? No! That's the
way it is and who cares? Bottom line, $180 is not expensive
if you live up north and is expensive if you live down south.

Hey mAdD MAX, no it is not Tint Master, it is a local shop like 5 min from home, the guy was highly recommended by different groups of people. I went to see him last week, the guy was kind of cool, took a look at the Max and suggest me
( I am not quite shure about % of tint ) I think 35% in front and 20% and Black Limo for rear windshield, for 180$ net, not a penny more, if you know what I mean.

Cheers

I understand it is a bit more expensive in certain areas, but if it was that expensive, i would do it myself. I mean I would do it myself now since i have all the skillz to do so, but for a $100 it aint worth my time.

Well if that is the way it is and you don't care, then why are you wasting your time on these boards b*******? Let me tell you something. Most places are just ripping you off because it doesn't cost that much for tint nor does require much skill to install. But then again, it's all on where you live and where you go.
