Today I first time ever topped out my 2k auto SE at 123mph, and later on the same road I got pulled by a cop for speeding ;((( I wasn’t driving that fast at that time, but fast enough for him to give me a ticket. My first ticket.
The worst part is that my BEL 980 did go off, but lately it goes of almost all the time. This time I felt like it was because of cops, but instead of pushing the brakes I just stopped accelerating and they got me. Plus – I was kind of alone at that little stretch of a road, some cars behind, and some in front, but none close by ;(
I guess I’ll just have to slow down now, and drive like regular people… life sux…

sucks.... how fast were you clocked? If it is your first ticket, just go to court and they will usually remove the points from your record. I got my first ticket a few months back and ended up with no points.

Lucky you didn't get busted going 100 and change. Off to the clink. "Cuff 'em and stuff 'em" Roscoe P. Coltrane.

Yep, I got a speeding ticket in my new Max as well....cop clocked me at 83mph, what a chicken sh@t ticket! Wasn't much cars on the freeway...oh well, I guess he needed the quota on tickets, besides his doughnuts. Let me say that one more time, What a chicken sh*t ticket!! I feel better now....

Just go to driving shcool, your points will be deleted from the record....

Same exact thing happened to me.... mine was 82 in a 55... $135 fine and two points. The judge gave me the option of walking away with 1 point or taking a class and getting no points...I took the class.

I think that I was clocked at 91, but the ticket is only for 80 in 65. The fine isn't that big - about 60$, but I'm not sure about the points...
I will definitely go to driving school. I was intended to do that anyway.
BTW – the cop was very polite and nice – got to give him that.

Don't feel too bad. Pretend it's like a coming of age thing. Too bad tickets are 99% about revenue these days. Don't know how many times I've seen a traffic cop sleeping in his squad with the radar on, while I've got some drunk weaving in front of me...

You'll feel like that for maybe a day before you notice you're breaking all the speed limits again.

On a more practical note, I found out State Farm doesn't check to see if you've gotten any tickets until you apply for or change your policy, even if your state is in the compact. This, to me, is a plus...

Does any one know if the "take a class and have ticket dropped" works in Upstate New York? Got clocked at 81 in a 65 mph zone (on the I-88) and I really don't have much of a case (after reading those websites). Since it is my first offense, I'm really hoping that I can at least get it to a no points fine. Of course, the best thing would be the "take a class" route. So what would be the procedure to plea bargain for that? Do I need a lawyer? Do I just ask the judge for a plea bargain? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!
