The only way that you can damage your engine with an exhaust cut-out is if you open the cut-out when in idle. We suggest that you do not open the cut-out below 1500 rpms for extended periods of time. For performance increase, wait until you have hit the WOT (wide open throttle) range of 3500 rpms, you need backpressure to create torque. Once you've passed the 3500 rpm mark in 1st gear, you can leave the cut-out open until the end of the race.
Is there a switch to open it. All I see is a handle. Does someone need to ride underneath the car until 3500rpm to move the switch?
