since the Oil spreadsheet now has 5th gens in it, I figured I would spam this board with the results.

Un-stick or whatever if you don't like it there. My evilness is unable to prevent you from doing that.....

Seriously guys, take a peek at it and make up your own minds.

Much thanks to Russ and Tim for helping out with this.

Absolutely. We always need more people to create better conclusions.

It's all good Bill. So does that mean I can make stickies and move them to the General Forum too?

Thanks for the update

I read through it all. I was bored waiting for my compile to complete. But found it very enlighting. What I would like to ask is if you could add another row to each of the analysis to include type of oil filter, if available. That way its all on the spreadsheet.

I read the breakout of each and found the needed info. Just thought that I would make a suggestion. (No evil Bill don't hit me....)

My tests are going to represent the very **** retentive, money spending method. I currently use Mobil 1 5W/30 dino plus Mobil 1 filter ( the 10 buck kind because of the higher % multipass cleaning ) and change at every 2500....Yup every 2500. Oil and oil filter. I run the crap outta my car. I am due in about 3 weeks for another change and will be going to 5W/30 Tri-Synthetic. It worked phenomenal for my HLA cammed Probe. So we will see what it can do for the Max.

Thanks again for posting the results. Soon I will add to the fray and be subject to comments....he he.

Colonel,

This is the last time the Spreadsheet will look as it is. Due to its increasing size, I'm going to have to break it out further and re-vamp it somehow. I'm kicking ideas around as to how to better organize it. Until the last minute, I didn't know everyone's specific oil filters that they used. That is at the top of the "upgraded" spreadsheet list.

Quite frankly, we need people doing/trying other combinations, such as dino oil (my ULX-110 dino oil and one Pennzoil with 600 miles only are the only results are all we have), people with S/Cs, NOS, etc. Since you are using dino oil and what I believe to be the best oil filter easily available, you will be a welcome addition. Just post your results, e-mail them to me, or modify the spreadsheet yourself and e-mail them to me.

I'm going to stop being evil about specific oil drain intervals as there seem to be too many variables to make a lot of generalizations......
