Whats the best product for your dash? I want something that will give a DEEP black shine. I dont want it too greasy, but i want it to repel dust (somewhat) and look well "saturated". any opinions?

thanx

That is a double negative. You will never get a deep shine along with a dust repelant. You are asking for a dust magnet with a high shine. That is a fact.

Pick one or the other.

You really sure you want a shiny dash?

You're asking for all sorts of glare problems...

I armor-all'd my dash once... Wanted to take sandpaper to it to get it dull again...

deep shine dash = very bad. the glare reflected back on your windshield will bug the heck out of you.
armour all is a bit shiny for my tastes, i use meguiars. clean fresh look, uv protection, keeps dust off fairly well, and isn't shiny. good stuff.

Meguiars #40 Vinyl and rubber cleaner works great. It will not leave a shiny, greasy mess like Armor all, but will make the finish very nice....

how about Vinylex, made by same company that makes Lexol. I use that on my leather seats.

It actually says its a silicone based product. ive read on a few sites that you dont want that, that you actually want to get one thats water based to condition your dash. any opinions on that?

I'm a little weary of silicone based products especially for leather. That's why I don't like Armour All's leather conditioner. But as for Vinylex, it's silicone based, but then if it's water based, wouldn't it just evaporate? I heard that it's got some polymers that'll protect the dash from UV and stuff. I guess any with UV blockers and won't be too shiney is good for me. AT least on the vinyl and rubber. Lexol on all the leather, steering wheel, shift **** and seats for me. I've actually used Lexol on the dash once when the rag I was using still had some on it...it worked well

I'd avoid using all silicon based products altogether.

Silicone attracts dust and dirt and gets sticky after being exposed to the sun for a while. Silicone based products look good after the first application, after that it becomes a sticky, nasty film.

It's a definite no-no for leather.

Okay, found a really nice product that works, just like I wanted it to. Anybody else use it? Its made by Pinnacle and there are two steps, a cleaner, and a protectant. Its not Siliconce based either. the cheapest place I found it at was a place called "topoftheline.com" and its $14.95ea., for the cleaner and the protectant, so roughly 30 bucks. i cant wait to get the stuff...
