Here is how statutes in Wisconsin are stated regarding side marker lights.

(1) Those clearance and marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the front or on the side near the front of the vehicle shall display or reflect an amber color

(2) Those clearance and marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the rear or on the side near the rear of the vehicle shall display or reflect a red color

What does this say to you guys? Then again, I suppose it doesn't matter what it says to us, it's what it says to an officer that matters.

I want to install clear corners, but I don't want to get pulled over if I do. The way I read that is if I have amber bulbs up front and red bulbs in the rear that should cover the "display 'x' color" portion.

Whatchathink?

It means when your car has sidemarkers they have to flash in a amber(front) and red(rear) color. If you get clear sideblinkers and colored bulbs than your perfectly legal. However if they flash in white than that is a problem.

Well, the chances that an officer is looking out for clear markers to pull someone over is slim. He is looking out for people who are speeding, driving erraticly, and running red lights. If you get pulled over for one of THESE things, beware: you may get a ticket tacked on for the clear corners. But don't worry, it shouldn't be that much.

If you're concerned, get polarg hyper amber and hyper red wedge lights from www.autofreak.net (bulb #194) They have cheap shipping.

Once again I wanna stress my theory....

As far as signals go IT'S NOT ABOUT GETTING STOPPED, if you have white bulbs people can't see you signaling during the day!!!!

just my $0.02

Very true. But you did notice that the side marker lights don't blink with the turn signals, right?

Unless you rewire them.

This thread isnn't really about the blinker lights, i dont think

The sides are just markers and are basically there to see where the car is at front to back at night when pasing. The weird thing is it is legal to put them on and change the light to factory color, illgeal to use the clears which would still allow you to see where it is. And yet it's legal to shave them all together.

look at our headlights and taillights, they dont extend out onto the sides...

the cars w/o sidemarkers do have them extended out. look closely at night.

when i took out my bulbs from my sidemarkers, my car was invisible at night from the side..

grey lustre on dark black = stealth mode

i use piaa super plasma's on my side markers now, and most cops here in suburb-land dont care... their out here to find weed smokers/dealers more

I don't ever really see any dealers on the streets in my town of Suberbia, but when I'm in ghettoer cities I see deals on all the time and the po-po's rather catch a 5mph over the limit dude than a deala...

Come to the Bay Area in California, or better yet, don't. The cops here are out looking for the little things like lights and no front plates.
