Cars.com gives you both list and dealer invoice, they then will alert a few nearby dealers who give you a quote. You are working with the sales manager via e-mail and phone so you can make it easy for them and you. I think they see it as an incremental sale with low overhead and little if any commission. Was able to buy at invoice which was about $2800 off list

I'm ncvetteman on corvetteforum...

I haven't decided between the Altima and Maxima yet, going to wait untill I can drive both. Hopefully, there will be more aftermarket development now that the same engine is accross so many different models. The car will shared between the wife and myself for a daily driver....I usually only drive my 2000 C5 MN6 one day a week, g/c its a long commute. I know I won't have to over invoice...I hoping for a little bellow...like my 2000 SE Max was $700 bellow invoice.

So you're saying that you've always locked in the 6 speed at $2800 off MSRP?

RE: Price

I am not sure what you mean by "always locked in"
You can negociate with dealers. I able to get them down as far as dealer invoice, which was about $2800 off MSRP.
I am sure the deals will get better later in the 2002 season.

Wrong word...I meant "already." So as to the answer of my question, do you have a Max 6-speed reserved under your name, ready-to-go, when it comes out at $2800 off MSRP?

Is it me or does Nissan's packages suck? Like was looking at the 6spd Maxima and to get side airbags, you must get the meridian package. And to get the LSD, you have to get either the Bose® Audio System (In-Dash) or Bose® Audio System (Trunk Mounted)Nissan Navigation System, WTF is up w/ that?!?!?

PPL are getting raped by nissan.

Do not believe you have to buy any other option to get LSD.

You are right in some ways, my bad. In this order, i had chosen SE model, Leather, 6spd tranny, a windows pops up and i chose side air bags/Meridian Edition. then when i clicked on LSD i had to chose a bose system.

But to get side Air Bags w/ cloth seating, it turns out to be a $2,646 option. B/c you HAVE to get sunroof, Bose System, and Meridian Edition. WTF?!?

that is messed up nissan.

I am completely with you on this....its like there aren't any packges...you want a base model, or a one in the middle(no leather or like with sunroof) or a fully loaded
Its ******* weird....you never see anything like this in a other companys
