I took my car in for my rotor problem today. They took care of my rotors under warranty. I also received a coupon in the mail today from Gaithersburg Nissan for a BG Transmission Flush, which I put to use right away. It cut the price down from $149 to $89 Car is running like a top. I love Nissan again.

I test drove the 2002 SE today. That engine has a ton of torque. I think I may trade in next summer, when they are clearing out the 2002's.

How much do you expect to pay extra if you trade in your 2000 for the 2002 next summer? I'd consider doing the same, but I really don't like the front fascia on the new model. Ninja kit might work on it though.

Next summer I shouldn't have to pay anything extra. I bought my 2000 in 1999, so my Max will be 2.5 years old next summer. I like the new front fascia. The 2002 I test drove was right next to a new 2001. The 2002 lines are cleaner. The only thing I don't like is the extra huge Nissan symbol.

Thanks. I hope they'll last longer this time. The TSB does seem to use different brake pads or shims. I'm not sure if they did that though. I'll have to look closer. My rear rotors were okay. The judder I was experiencing was not huge. I just knew what to look for. If it happens again, I'll go aftermarket or I'll have a 2002 anyway.

Actually, I meant what kind of trade-in value are you expecting for your Max when you trade for the 2K2 model.
As for the front fascia, to each his own, as they say. I agree with you about the big Nissan symbol.

I'm not sure what it will be worth one year from now. It seems my depreciation is slowing down right now. My trade-in value is around 16K at this point.

Actually I want to see the Altima too. I don't like the interior photos I've seen so far though. Maybe it looks better in person. Also, I saw a rumor on Motor Trend that shows the Maxima receiving a revised rear suspension for 2003. I'm keeping my options open so far.

glad to hear they took care of you. I may take mine in soon for rotors also.... if they don't do it, then I will be looking into some x-drilled or slotted rotors when the time comes
