Ok, Nissan is closed until Tuesday and with my work schedule next week, it's going to be tough to see them but I have a question for you guys.

My car is 4 months old, new, 2001 SE. I have an oil leak that just started like Thursday of last week. In about 3 hours, it leaves about a half-dollar size mark on the ground and typically only happens after I have driven it. If it's just sitting there for a day it doesn't happen.

What could be causing this? I'm majorly PO'd at the fact my car is only 4 months old and has an oil leak. Oil was changed two - three weeks ago but didn't see this problem until late last week so I don't think it's an oil change issue.

Anyone else ever have this problem?

find where the oil is leaking from; there are numerous places where a leak can occur - cam seals, crank seal, oil filter, valve cover, etc.

Are you sure the oil change is not related to the leak? Check the oil filter and oil drain plug for a tight seal. Oil leaks are very rare on the Maxima.

Check under the car, I have a feeling it is either the drain plug that is not on Tight or the Oil Filter was not put on tight.

It can easily leak when the oil is hot because it is thinner and flows better, when oil is colder, it is typically a little thicker and that is why it may not be leaking when it just sits there for days.

That would be my best guess.
