Anyone have a good source for male plugs that will fit the headlamp and turn signal lamp sockets for a 2k Max. Want to wire up the 2k2 leadlamps, but would like to do it without the need for cutting out the existing sockets (in case I need to reinstall the original lamp assemblies).

You do NOT need to cut the H4 plug off. You simply open the stock H4 plug and remove the female connectors and plug the MALE .250 connector into it. Then you heat shrink it and wire loom it.

I got two FEMALE H4 plugs from DAVE B, but it was too much work turning it into MALE plugs. The plugs are from a company called AMP, so you can search on GOOGLE for their website for a MALE but I didn't see any.

Hold off for a couple days and I should save you a little work that I already did.

Thanks for the info. Will need to wait until Dave B gets the wiring harness and clips in before he ships the headlamps and all the parts, so looking forward to your experiences with this mod.

Damn IceY2K1, you seemed to have done everything a different way that I have. I just straight cut everything off. I know I aint re-installing the old ones (already sold them).

Just need to figure out this high beam problem, I know I can solve it with a simple relay. But I know you hate relays.

This is you: RELAY

I don't hate relays. I'm actually using relays as my LONG-TERM setup. I just hooked them up withOUT relys, so I could test them out BEFORE people actually hook them up and then something goes WRONG(such as the HI-beam indicator light and the ALARM flashing the HIDs). I didn't feel comfortable telling people that they could wire them withOUT relays, only to have problems.

I did cut the blinker if that makes you feel any better. I'm not worried about splicing wires to put the plugs on later if I sold the car.

How much did you get for your STOCK headlamps?

I got 175 for both the left and the right housing. Without the bulbs or connectors.

I do not seem to get the problem of the HI-Beam indicator light? Maybe I missed something, I know about the alarm flashing the HIDs, but hopefully sixman or you will let us know which wire to snip.

Check the thread '2k2 HID install question' for more discussion about the theft circuit. (Would have posted the thread as a link but I don't know how to do that here)
