The Maxima has a rumble to it's engine noise from within the cabin. But, comparing to what I saw and heard today, it is rather tame.

I swung by Home Depot today and they had the 2000 Dewalt Tools Winston Cup car parked out front. I asked the guy if he would start it up. He said "No problem!".

He fired it up and I was I was standing beside the car by the exhaust outlets when he started it.

People came running out of the store to see what was going on. That thing sounded awesome!

Imagine having to drive that noise-maker on a daily basis. You wouldn't be able to hear any conversation in the car, the stereo, or the police chopper doing aerial surveillance for the cops chasing you.

I'd like a meaner growl from my car, but honestly, i'd get a headache driving anything noisier than what I have now.

Even then stuff wouldn't shake, including myself. The sound and feeling is unreal.

If you wanted a loud rumble, the maxima is definitely not the way to go...sometimes, when i'm idling, the car is so silent i wonder whether it stalled.

My brother has a HOnda Prelude and it used to have a big loud a** muflletr...he got rid of it (not the prelude) and opted for a quieter ride...sure, it sounds sorta cool at foirst, but you definitely don't want that racket in the long run.
