need input on this one from the experts.
as a solution to the HID cutting out with the hi beam in your HID procedure, how about connecting the HID ground wire to the hi beam ground in addition to its own? that would give it a ground when the hi's come on and its own ground gets 'cut.'
there should be a brief moment when the HID has 2 grounds cuz the low beam doesn't turn off until a split second after the hi beams turn on. pulling the hi beam lever towards me VERY slowly, the sequence of events is:

1. hi beams turn on
2. driver's low beam turns off
3. passenger's low beam turns off

and the reverse happens when i slowly let go. is this feasible?

Well here is my idea. Connect the Xenon ground to the body. That should solve the whole Ground issue, no more problem. Only thing left is the alarm issue. Cause the 12V+ in the H4 plug is swiched along with both grounds for High and low.

I dont understand what you are talking about the last part in your post above, is that what is happening now?

oh. i thought the HID ground was switched, not the 12v. so much for the hi beam problem.

disregard that last part of my previous post. not too well written. i'm kinda bleary-eyed right now.

Both grounds are swiched. So is the 12V+ on the H4 when you turn on and off the headlights. So in theory, gounding the HIDs to the body should work. That is what ICE did. But I dont know why he had to do all the other wiring. I think this should solve EVERYTHING except for the alarm blink and the auto-to-on switch which i dont give a crap about.

same here. i'm sure it's important, but my lights are just left in the AUTO position so i won't concern myself with it.
