If you use the jack that comes with your car, DO NOT try to jack the whole front end up. The jack can't handle the load of the 60% weight front end of our 3200 pound car. If you read on the jack, it says "max load 900kg". Whatever 900kg is in pounds, it isn't enough to support 60% the Maxima. This is for all you newbies who don't have 10 ton-capable jacks at your buddies mechanic shop. Get a real jack, or stick to jacking up one side of your car at a time.

if you plan on jacking up your car for doing any real work, invest in a decent floor jack and some jack stands.... Make sure they are rated 2-ton at least....

You think Nissan would give you a jack that could hold up any part of the car. Go figure, they were probably the cheapest.

That jack is only for a tire change. Not to get underneath the car to change the oil or anything. I cant even trust that jack to hold steady if i even changed the damn tire on it.

Not to mention a full size tire like Toyota put in the Rav4. I was surprised Nissan but that dinky thing in.

Rav4 is a (sort-of) off-road 4x4 vehicle. May be a toy, but it still needs a full size spare to get back home when a flat happens in the boonies.

I don't know of any passenger cars with full size spares now-a-days, except as an option. Maybe full-size "luxury" boats, er-ah, cars.

Once I realized I had to jack the car for oil changes I use my floor jack on the right front and back it up with the trunk jack before I climb under the car.

On my old Gen 3 car no jack was required as the oil filter was on top in back of the engine.

By the way 900 KG. is 1980 pounds for the trunk mounted jack. 60% of 3200 pounds is 1920 pounds so I would never even try to jack up the whole front end.
