Raziel and the Soul Reaver to the Max???

A friend of mine has a 5th gen with a ps2 in it
, so I brought over my summer jam pack
so he could try the new soul reaver 2. While playing
the demo of Soul Reaver 2. I hit a rough spot
I just cant seem to get past, and I could use some help?
The part that is giving me trouble is when raziel gets
to the area were he needs to use his Light reaver to open
the door. Then he needs the Dark reaver to release
the shadow bridge. Every time I leave the room to get
the Dark reaver. The door shuts and I cant get back in
till I get the light reaver again??? ARRRRG!!!!! I even
tried changing to the realm to stop time but once I try
and go back then the door just closes.
HELP????
