I was parked in the street, and he/she hit it while trying to parallel park (I am guessing). Thankfully only the bumper seems to be damaged...so I can just buy a whole new bumper and replace it right? Where do you guys recommend and is it pretty easy to replace the bumper? Thanks.

BTW, how much is a bumper? I guess the good thing is the marker got taken off (just the red part) so I can get the clears now. =)

Prices

I was just involved in a bumper bender and am getting both of mine replaced. Here are the quotes from the dealership on each. Oh yeah, I have an AE if it matters or makes a difference.

Front Bumper Cover: 323.08
Rear Bumper Cover: 201.32

Hope it helps!

That's weird! Everyone's getting into an accident.

Here in Toronto my buddy Nathan had his car sideswiped .. don't know how much ... Ereet who occasionally posts has $10K damage .. some drunk driver hit his car while it was parked ... I was rear ended on Thursday but my damage is only $1500.

Man .. pricing is much more expensive here in Toronto ... rear bumper with install & paint is $900 = $600 USD

Yeah, this guy just left, and I didn't see him/her. Should've at least left a note saying sorry, if not offer to pay for the damage!

Rob'sAE: I went to Tustin Nissan's site (saw a thread about this on here somewhere) and chatted with one of the guys there. The quote for the rear was 201, but the maxima.org price was only like 161. You should check it out.

is the bumper just scrated or dented?

If it is just badly scratced, just get it repianted. Like the other post says, its about $200 for the bumpers alone which is expensive...plus they come unpainted so you'll have to pay another couple hundred bucks to get a new one painted! hopefully you can salvage the old one.

not my penny

It really does not matter to me, it's not coming out of my pocket. I would like to have the ability to keep the old ones to sell. The back one has minor scratches and the front one has a "dent" or warp right under where the license plate goes.

Man, in this and age in this country some people just dont give a damn about other peoples car.

I mean it is almost a fact of life to live here and get door dings and marks on your front and rear bumpers.

Parallel Parking

Man, I was just in Berkeley / San Fran... BELIEVE ME, spend a week there, and you WILL get GOOD at parallel parking. I am a pro now. BTW, being in SF was the first time I was happy to have automatic.

Oh yeah, and instead of getting a new Nissan bumper, why not get a Stillen aerokit?

Yup, I swear, that city has the most parallel parking spaces. Automagics are great in SF...not to mention all the hills you have to tackle there.

Some people just don't care about their own cars so when they damage others while parking or getting out of parking, they just move on. It sucks, and I feel your pain.

I remember when I first got my Civic years ago. Within a month, the left corner of my rear bumber was all scratched up from people getting out of tight parking spaces and not caring who got "hurt" along the way. That was in the *** Hill district of San Francisco. I was more than happy to move to my own house a few years later so I could have my own garage and drive space.

Similar situation at UCLA when I went there.

Even if he gets the Stillen aerokit, he still has to replace the bumper because the aero kit tags on the bottom.

OOOOOHHH YEAAAAAAHHH...

BTW GO bruins... I go to UCLA now. Luckily, I park my car at home not too far away, and my spot is wide enough for a hummer.
