Recently the temp gauge in my dash is at almost a 9 o'clock position. It's closer to the "H" than it is to the "c". I remember the temp cooler than that. Is this normal?

hmmm... mine has always been at half way or slightly less.... more like 8 o'clock. check the coolant level...
