Well guy's i am a member of Gapwer.com(Grand Am) website. I have been wanting a maxima since i could remeber. Well i am going to keep my Grand Am GT but i need another car to travel back and forth to school in so i won't put so many miles on one car. Well i've been looking around and reading up on the 00-01 Maximas for a while now and i'm now ready to get one but it'll be about 3 weeks. I went to Carmax Nissan last night while they were closed and found about 20 New 01 MAximas selling for i think a low price. I want a 01 White(To match my other car) Maxima SE with Black leather interior. The price for a brand new one is 24,560 compared to 28,000 in my home town.
Well my questions are these...

How much have you guy's paid for a 01 maxima SE tax wise, insurance wise, and monthly payment wise(If not to personal)?

Have you had alot of problems out of the car since you had it and if so what were they warranty covered?

If you have a exstended warranty how long is it for?

I have to get a auto so have the auto's been good so far?

How fast are your auto's?
I am a race freak!!!!

Is the after market for these cars pretty good for now? I can't leave anything stock it's boring to me!

I might have more questions but these are the main ones.I have several plans for my car but i'm not gonna take it to the Xtreme!
My Grand Am is my car show with several mods and it was my first car given to me by my parents in 98. I'm buying this maxima becasue i want one and i want to buy a car myself since i'm still living at home and plan on it for quite a while. But i want a fast car and i'm sure this one is fast. I'm gonna go back to the dealership Monday and try out one so i'll know.I've parked my current car beside the MAx and they look good together both Bright white!! But tell me what to look for and what to exspect out of this car. I appreciate all the info in advance!
Peace!!
Brandon.

hey what up man.....i would definately recommend gettn a max juss like all the guys here, however, i think 24k is a lot for a max now....esp w/ 2002's out and all.....
warranty problems range...i personally havent had any major problems besides my trunk was ****ing up my trunk lid, but got that fixed under warranty...if u search around ull see ppl got probs w/ brake rotors, shift solenoids [auto], and manual tranny hesitation....
DO NOT GET AN AUTOOOOOOOO...mines auto and after i learned how to drive manual i been like 'damn i wish i got manual'....we got around 0-60 ~7.8 auto, ull lose a second w/ manual....but i guess if u MUST get an auto its still hauls ***...aftermarket, lotta stuff, but not too many companies making them...nothing compared to hondas;....check out my sig, my car is white too and is sittn lower cuz i took those pics the day i got my springs put in.....considering it all, i love my car and if i had to do it agaiin, i get a maxima again, but manual

some answer

How much have you guy's paid for a 01 maxima SE tax wise, insurance wise, and monthly payment wise(If not to personal)?

I don't know how much ppl will pay for a 01 SE, but they should be a lot lower now due to the 02
Insurance for me is.. (24, no accidents, etc...) 173 dollars a month... that's in CA.. so depend where you are at... it will be higher(NJ) or lower (WI)

Have you had alot of problems out of the car since you had it and if so what were they warranty covered?

I own a 2000 GXE... there were no problem whatsoever... there have been few issure with auto...
1. tranny shift too slow, that can be adjusted by the dealer under warrenty (TSB)
2. some ppl have rotor wrap problem, that can also be done by the dealer (TSB)

If you have a exstended warranty how long is it for?

dunno

I have to get a auto so have the auto's been good so far?

How fast are your auto's?
I am a race freak!!!!

DON'T GET AN AUTO..... well... from what mag. had auto does 0-60 in about 7.6 sec. Stick is about 1 sec. faster. There are some stick (stock) that did 14.9 (someone correct me if I am wrong)

Is the after market for these cars pretty good for now? I can't leave anything stock it's boring to me!

Stillen has a whole bunch of product for US,
intake, exhause, y-pipe, fstb, rstb, rsb, supercharger
Cattman has y-pipe(best quality from what I heard), suspensions.
there are quite a bit of aftermarket stuff... just not at much as the Honda boys

My advise, get an auto or stick, your choice... you are enjoy it like most of us has on this board

MAxEDOUT2G!!!
I want a the exact same color you have. Do you have Black leather?? I don't know how to drive a Stick but i wish i could but i can't.I know sticks are faster but i travel alot so a auto will be fine.7.8 0-60 my Grand Am GT will do it in 8.0 so thats alittle close between the two.You think i should try and get it discounted more from 24000?I thought that was a good price over the 28,000 price.I'll see what i can do.I'm gonna get a exstended warranty so i'm not worried about rotor probs. No car even new is worry free I found that out wth my Grand Am.Where did you get those clear side markers from and how mch were they?I love white cars!!!

my insurance went up $200/6 monthes when i went from a pathfinder to the maxima.
i haven't had any major problems with my car and i'm a hi mileage driver (38000 in 14 monthes). i have an auto and i'm happy with it. it's still faster than any of the other sedans i've driven. paint is an ongoing issue but you probably know of that already.
no real warranty issues for me. but when i do go to a dealer, it's a nightmare trying to deal with any of them.
overall, i'm still very satisfied with my car.

ps. lots of stuff to spend your money
