I was scoping out how difficult it would be to fabricate a turbo system for my 2k Max 5-speed...

Didn't seem TOO bad at all...
Routing the piping seems pretty straight forward...

Anyone on here do this yet? (i'm guessing no)

Well as of now honda doesn't have a 300hp 3.0 engine. The only V6 they have that comes close is the NSX 3.2 V6. Also getting 300hp from a VQ30DE in NA its going to be expensive and hard. First off to make that kind of power you have to rev it higher, like a 8000rpm limiter. Next you have to port the heads, get higher lift/longer duration cams, swap over a 5th gen intake manifold. Then comes boring the TB to 70mm, lots of hours tuning the ECU, loud high flowing exhaust, custom headers. Since it doesn't feature any varitable valve timing your idle will be ****ty and the MIL will be on. I have no doubt a VQ30DE could put down 220-230FWHP with the right cams and ECU tuning. But 300hp at the flywheel is around 250-260hp at the wheels. Forced induction is the only way togo IMHO.

 

Honda has an Ac-r accord coupe type r only one. has 300 hp

 

the accord type R, which is only sold in japan and europe is the 2.2 dohc vtec with 222 HP with a 5sp.. the AC-R Accord is a One-Off. made by Honda it's got a 3.0 sohc vtec with 300 HP with and upgraded Auto tranny. Don't worry none of these two will be in production in the U.S. anytime soon.

 

nah bro...what you saw is a supercharger...not a turbo.
Vortech doesn't make turbo's.
I owned a 400hp Honduh until i bought this Maxima a couple months ago....trust me i know...it's a supercharger.

 

Too bad we'll never see it here in the states...
And IF we ever did (we won't) it would only come in AUTO.

Honda needs to wake up and throw a stick in the Accord V6.
Then maybe the Max would have some true competition.

 

heheh oops you are right. i just looked back at it and it said super charger.. heheh the turbine looks like a turbo tho.. it's their combination turbo/sc right?? the design???
