Muffler inlet size?

I want to get a performance exhaust/muffler for my max, but dont want to spend $500 for a Greddy.

I just need to know if I can get some of these universal fit ones? But what size do I need to make sure the inlet is?

And how much will a muffler shop charge to weld on new backets and install it? Most people say $25, is that too low?

What about Apexi? I know they make some...or HKS does too.
