I would keep the tires.

I would base the tire decision on how much tread is left. They may not be the best, but there yours and you could take the money and put it towards another mod..

I just had wheels put on my car.. I have the 16".. I guess I got lucky, I am running a tight budget (wife still in school) and sears had this sale on there Z-wheels.. No they are not TSW's, but they look a heck of a lot better than the stocks for $300 plus hdw & inst..... I will try to get up a pic if your curious..

I like the tires that come with the car - they have great handling and are quiet. Don't you guys think so, or is there something so much better I just don't know about? Also does anyone have pics of wheel upgrades that look good? I'd like to see some! How low profile can you go on the tires with 17" wheels before rubbing becomes a concern?

I like the stock 17" SE wheels also. They Potenza's are also quiet and pretty sticky on dry pavement. The only bad thing about the wheels is that they are 17" by 7" . I am not sure if you can go to wider wheels with the stock rims.

You do not want to change the aspect ratio of the tire if you have 17" rims. Going to a lower profile tire while keeping the stock wheel will mess up the calibration of the speedometer and the abs computer. You can go to a lower profile tire if you get larger rims and not have those drawbacks.

Regarding the stock tires, they are "ok." They have their limits. For one thing the treadwear rating is very low for the performance that they actually provide. This means that they are going to wear out much faster than a tire with a higher treadrating. This wouldn't be bad if the Potenza's had tremendous grip.

For your what rims look good, I posted some photoshop pictures of wheels i think would look good. Here's the link: https://maxima.org/forums/showthread...?threadid=2112 .
