I hear a Knocking Noise when I turn to the Right and Start to Accelerate...

Hey I kinda have a problem. This only happens when I start off, not when I'm in turns, not sure what it is....

Whenever I turn my wheel all the way to the right (and only to the right) and I start to accelerate in 1st I hear a short super brief bump coming from the front, probalby 1 out of 3 times. It's not as much annoying as it is that I don't want it to lead to future problems, you can't even hear it unless you actually pay attention. My step dad says it's how I let off the clutch but that makes no sense to me...

it sounds to me like it may be a cv joint, but the way you say that it only happens when you start out is weird. so it's probably not the cv joint.

Ya I was thinking CV too, but try looking at all of your CV boots make sure none of them are torn, if so I would say CV. Go through all the suspension bolts in the front and make sure all bolts are tight. Then raise the hood and run the motor have someone hit the gas (rev it) and see if the motor moves more than say an inch or so, if the motor seems to move alot, I would start looking for a bad motor mount.

A CV joint can go real fast if it has a broken boot. The best way to figure that out is you will see a bunch of grease everywhere next to the boot. If not CV problably are ok.

Certainly sounds like a CV joint. I think my left hand is going. It did it to me on Friday but not this morning.

Strut sound

There is a TSB for a front strut sound on the 2000 Max. I seem to remember reading it would happen when you turn the wheel at low speed. It maybe worth having the dealer check it out if you can get it fixed under a TSB. Here is a link to the NHTSA data base on the TSB
