I was recently at a Nissan dealer trying to sort out the differences between the new Maxima and Altima. I'm aware of the rear suspension and 5 vs 6 speed differences. The salesperson told me that the Altima had a engine compartment under hood insulation that smoothered engine fires. Does anyone know what the materials are for the Altima and Maxima? Are they different? Also does anyone know where the micron filter is on the Max and Altima? My salesperson knew colors and "gee don't I want a sunroof" etc type.
