I'm planning on getting a 2002 Maxima SE 6 speed with the HLSD as soon as they are available and I'm thinking ahead to what rims to put on it. I like the Moda R6's that tirerack has (19x8). Anyhow tirerack recommends 235/35-19 which will have the speedo 1.46% fast. The 245/35-19 (which they don't recommend) will only have the speedo .41% fast.

Will a 245/35-19 fit on a 2002 Max without rubbing in turns? I realize it's 2cm wider than the stock tire, but it this really going to be a problem? They recommend one that's 1cm wider than stock.

To be on the safe side roll w/ the 235/35. That is what I use!

Just saw the new 2002 Maxima, and noticed that the 17's much larger; they look like 18's or even 19's. Anyone notice that?

Rim looks larger, and the sidewall just looks a little taller, giving the impression of a larger wheel.

245s will be just fine.... No rubbing as long as the correct offset is chosen.

So how do I know if the rims have the right offset for 245's? I don't want to look like some ghetto ricer who's got rims that extend past the wheelwells.

Those spokes radiating from the center give the illusion of making the wheel larger (as in taller) than what it actually is.

The proper offset is 38mm. Nothing larger than a 45mm. I got some brand new 19" 235/35 Michelin Pilots that I can sell you very resonable!

you can go with a 8" wide rim and 35-40 offset. If you go with an 8.5 wide you better have a 40 offset.

get a 245-35 with a 39mm offset on an 19 x8.5 it will be fine

I had 245/35/19 on my 2000 Max (same as 2002 i suppose)...
On 19x8 rims with a 40mm offset...

The rear would rub slightly on bumps causing a minor scrape.
But thats about it...

Aha, that's what I was looking for. I don't want any scraping, so it looks like 245's are out. Anyone have 235/35-19's that scrape?

Thanks, I cound't begin to tell you want that peice cost alone...everything was dun at the same time then some things where changed or moded more... keep in mind once you rip it apart it don't go back together so you can't put the factory radio back in at all unless you get a new 1,000 factory radio.

I'm not sure if that is the grill I want or not...i may just end up making exactly what i want but at this point i just don't know.

for 18x7.5 is 40mm or 42mm offset good or too much? will it be coming out at all?

i want a 18x7.5 with a 235x40x18

I have the 235/35 19" and they have never rubbed!

with a 7.5 rim I would use a 35 offset.

How do you guys know these numbers? Is there some reference material somewhere or does it just come with experience?

You could run a 235/40/19 and keep the factory ride.

That's pretty much what I have. So far so good.

Although I haven't tested them too roughly, the Kumhos have held up pretty well so far. I'm able to make my sharp turns and other tasks with no problem. My offset's actually 45mm and they don't rub. I would consider getting 18X8 though because that'll help with the handling a bit more and the cost is usually not much more.

i found some nice rims that i like that are cheap but only come in 18x7.5
otherwise i would jump on the 18x8s for sure

you could always use h&r hubcentric spacers to bring the wheels out a bit if you didnt like the way the 7.5's sat in.

these are all $143 per rim... so 4 rims is $572... but then they also have Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 for $129 each... so the package costs $1088 and it includes the wheels, tires, free mounting, balancing and valve stems... so i think its a good deal... and they look nice too... and i wanted dark rims cause of my grey lustre i think it will look dope... but the question is im not sure which to choose...

Haha yeah they do look like RH, but these are definately cheaper. I have a grey lustre max too so when you get them take a lot of pic's I wanna see what dark rims would look like on our cars. I'd pick between the second and third rims you have pic's of.

ye i was leaning towards those too cause they have bolt covers... so it looks cleaner... but which to get... they are both nice... which do u think look bigger? the 2nd 1 is 40 offset and the last one is 42 offset... will they look different on the car? only 2mm... i dunno... i think i like the 5 stars...

i just called them and they said they are all approximatly 25lbs a rim...

is that good? bad? average? for 18" rims? the stock ones are like 50lbs right?

25 lbs for a 18" rim is fair. Most 17s weigh around 22-24 lbs.



But, ADR are one of those knock-off brands.. Maybe you can spend an extra 30$ per rim or so and get something better... check out www.discounttiredirect.com they have lots of **** for sale right now.
