Maxiima 2002 and Infinit I30

What are the differences/similarities between the Maxima and the Infiniti I30?

Do you mean the 2k1 Max and I30 or the 2k2 Max and I35?

All in all they're pretty similar. Don't know anyone that has an I35 yet.

I have noticed refrences to the infiniti products and they look almost identical to the Maxima. I was wondering if mechanical parts were interchangable. If they are, does the infinity product line have any performance advantages?

not exactly sure but i think infinity is making their models a lot more luxurious compared to the nissan counterparts now. Seems like it was legit of the customers complaining about how they paid several thousand more and got a car that was almost identical to the cars that would have saved them over 3k(maybe even more now)

I've seen the 2002 I35. As always, it looks like a Max with different tails, rims, a fancy clock and rear sun shade but no manual tranny. Can't quite remember but loaded I think the sticker was $33,500.

It still looks like a Max to me, though. However,in IMO, the 2k2 Max leather seating looks better.

Does it at least have a tiptronic style automatic transmission?

No tiptronic sport-shift going on in there. Same gated shifter as the Max.

That ****in blows. When they gonna realize that their competitors have it, mostly talkin about the TL, and even the smaller less expensive IS 300 has it. I don't understand their logic.

One of the dealers I spoke to (Green Gifford of Norfolk, VA) told me that the Max is going to have the V8 next year on the same platform with the Q45. Who know's if he's right, but if so...hopefully a sport-shift will be in it. Can't remember if the Q has one or not.

Of course, the Q is too big to be "sporty".

Yeah, the Q has it, and thats why I don't understand why the new I35 doesn't.

Not to be a punk but you pay more for the Q so it figures that there will be some features that the lower models do not have. Makes sense to me.

Now why the I35 doesn't have something that it's competitors have is a better complaint.

As similar as the 2k1 Max is to the 2k1 I30. The body styles have stayed the same, the engines both went up. Slight changes in the exterior that's all.
