I'm in Columbus, no mods yet though. If you want to chat, let me know. I've gone through alot of the issues with the 5 speed Max.

Where did you purchase?

ohio!

I'm north of dayton and can help, less than an hour from columbus. I installed a FSTB, RSB and some lights on my max. Let me know if you need help istalling mods. Decide if you want to upgrade power or suspension first. I switched to mobil 1 motor oil also.....

Queen City here!

Congratulations on your purchase. Here is what I have learned over that past month.

I'm in Mason, OH, which is north of Cincinnati. I purchased my 2K1 Max SE a month ago and I love it. So far, I only have a K&N drop in filter and it is worth every penny. I plan on adding an OSCAI because I don't want to drill a hole in my fender for the aftermarket CAI kits( my car is under factory warranty ). Next, I will add a FSTB and a RSB to improve handling. I will probably order the FSTB from Courtesy Nissan and the RSB from Addco. Finally, you could add a either a y-pipe, a Random Technology Cat, or both. Either exhaust mod would break federal regulations I believe because according to federal law, you cannot tamper or remove a working Cat unless the Cat is missing or does not work properly. We have E-check in Warren County and I'm worried that the y-pipe might cause my car to fail the test. You can order the 2K1 AE shift **** and door sills from Courtesy Nissan. At my next oil change, I'm going to full synthetic oil in the engine and the 5 speed transmission.

Have fun with your car. This org is a great place to learn about the Max and there are really nice people here.

What's a FSTB and RSB? And how come you swithed to mobile 1? better? and did you just request that at your oil change? Another guy said Synthetic is better... thoughts?

THanks!!!

That's one of the things I was advised to pickup... air filter and maybe a new air box?? correct term, I don't know. (box where air filter is...) also a Stablizer Bar. Where would you pick up a K&N filter? and what's an OSCAI?

Thanks for everyone's help and enthusiasm!!!

I got my K&N at Auto Zone. It definitely increases airflow. The K&N drop in filter uses that stock airbox so you don't need a new one. There is alot of information on the OSCAI on this org. Just look at the sticky "How To" post on this board.

Enjoy

Looked at Nissan North, was not pleased. Have had great experiences with Buckeye. Many people on the board have had their issues with Nissan Service Deptartments, but I think Buckeye does a great job. After giving them the TSB for the fuel cut, the did it quickly and correctly with no questions asked. They put my fuel filler gaurd on at no charge since the parts took two months to come in. They are easy to schedule with and the people treat me kindly. More importantly, they are willing to work around and even help with certain mods (suspension in particular).

Issues (search for complete details):

Fuel-cut, paint chips (although I don't have nearly as many as some on the board), fuel line cover, warped rotors...there are probably more, but these are the ones that I have dealt with.

Absolutely, Buckeye has been great to me. Before my new Max I had a 97 altima, it was evidentally abused by the previous owner and just had problem after problem. They were great with scheduling every time and even made up for what few mistakes they made. (i.e. free car rentals)

But ya, just noticed by first hood chip, not happy about that. but otherwise I'm so happy with it.
