HELP! Body Kit Install!

Stillen Sucks
The Front Touring Spoiler leaves huge gaps on the sides, between the lip and the stock bumoer skin. The double sided take they sent me is complete crap and wouldn't hold shlt together. I tried better double sided tape but I wouldn't hold the pressure. I then went to home depot for some epoxy, I had silicone adhesive in mind. The azzhole there told me phenoseal was much better, and bother water proof, and paintable (incase I mess up.) Once again he assured me it was waterproof. Well I rained and apart cam my sides, elaving a bad azz redidue all over the place. Does anyone know how I can remove this without taking off the spoiler, it is rivited on.? The spoiler looks great from afar but overall stillen made a real shiddy product. Also what would you guys recommend to bond the spoiler to the bumper If I ever get this crap off?

I have no idea how to help your car, but as for your post...spellcheck. That was painful. Kev...what happened to the spellcheck button that we used to have?

Try WD-40 to see if it does anything. Otherwise Mineral Spirits(aka Paint Thinner) is as harsh of a solvent as I would go. I'd probably even dilute it with some water to see if it works first.

Just wash ALL of it off and then wax the area.

try 3M rubbing compound. it's clear coat safe yet removes all other elements fairly easily...if that don't work..then you should not be trying to remove the stains yourself. leave it to the professionals.

Better not be ragging on 5th gens!

Well my rage and mispelling fit have subsided...

I took Irvine 78's advice and took the entire bumper off to screw from the inside out. Like A dream! Thanks Irvine78!

I don't think it'll fit, cuz the front bumper is completely different. I'm not positive, but I think that the SE is supposed to come with factory sideskirts. The rear should still fit though. They'll have to come out with another kit for the '02.

Re: Bodykit

Interesting..i just purchased the normal Stillen kit and will it have gaps too? That would really suck after I paid 1200cnd for it. Anybody have this problem with gaps?

Re: Re: Bodykit

I think this is a issue unique to the touring lip, with some elbow grease, ingenuity and a litle help from the .org it came out perfect.

the sides and the rear will fit..the SEs do come with factory side sills, so you can either keep them or take them off and put the Stillen skirts..

as far as the front goes, unless you buy the Stillen front fascia, other 2 kits(the standard and the touring) won't fit.
