What's the best brand of window tint to get?

Ok folks. Whats the best brand of window tint to put on the back and side windows of my Max. I had Sungard on my last car and it lasted about 6 years before turning purple and losing clarity.

I second that. MADICO is the BEST available brand out there. Most TOP NOTCH tinters use that. It is VERY durable to temp changes, gauranteed never to bubble or even peel or wrinkle.

I have Llumar. It's great so far and it carries a lifetime warranty. I've also heard that Formula One is a good brand.

All of them are good brands, like cars, like audio systems, everyone has their own opinions.

But the key to keep it from changing colors on ANY tint is NOT TO USE windex or the ACIDIC glass cleaners. You NEEEEEEEEED to make sure it say it on the bottle, "SAFE FOR TINTED WINDOWS"

Most manufactures WILL NOT warranty the item if it has been discolored due to negligence like using acidic based glass cleaners.

No why? I dont see how tint would affect my reception. It is not metallic nor is it lead based or anything. That is the only way the built in glass antenna would be affected.

Clear plastic wont affect it at all. At least not noticible to a person's ear.

Thanks for all the great responses. I knew I could count on y'all. I will check if Madico has an installer in my area.

Madico does not have installers. They are located in a few cities around the country. I use to sell tints for them a few years back. You can call a local tint shops and see who installs it. Expect to pay more for Madico.

I don't know the brand, but I got lifetime film, which is metallic, guaranteed not to change color, etc.
Also, on the back window, make sure the installers don't cover the dot matrix at the top as you will loose your AM radio reception.
Look for scratches on the rear window where they cut the film. Mine had scratches (shi**y glass) and I made them pay for a polisher to polish out the scratches. Not fun.
My cost about $230 in WA.

I have Quantum Non-dye films. It's guarantee not to turn purple. I paid about $195 for all five windows except the windshield. So far I like it a lot. Visibility is fine and plus it keeps the car much cooler during the day.

My radio reception gets horrible for some reason when I turn on the rear defrost. The dot matrix area is not tinted. They used Johnson tint 35% all around. I guess its nothing but CD's and MP3's for me during the winter months

Might want to get that checked out, cause I know for a fact it cant have anything to do with the TINT. Most places dont tint the Dot Matrix area since the Tint wont stick too well on it.

Just in case you dont know, the in glass antenna is not part of the dot matrix area, it is the upper most lines on the window, they are the ones that dont go all the way across line the defog lines, they make small boxes.

Find out what kind of tint you got put on, maybe there might be some metallic composite in the film that might be messing with the radio antenna.
