Stupid Headlights!

After I swapped out my stock H4's for Catz Galaxy-Whites, my beam pattern has been all screwy.

The beam makes like a slanted line against my garage door.

Like this ----> /___/

It looks like two slanted lines with a flat section in between...the slanted beam is much more pronounced on the passenger side.

Anyone else with this problem?

I've jiggled the hell out of it and tried to reseat the bulb too...any other suggestions? It drives me crazy at night!

Mine have same pattern stock... I think... Put your stock ones back in and see if it affects the pattern.I don't see how a diff bulb will affect beam (unless it's masked somehow). I'll check my pattern again when it'll get darker outside.

DUDE NO WAY!!

I just swapped out my gf's H4's in her Mazda Protege...I was like WTF?!?! Cause her pattern is clean..perfect horizontal line man.

This slanty thing is annoying as hell.

H4 Housings always make the passenger side light reach up further to see road signs. If you notice also on your driver side, the slant is towards the passenger side, once again the reason its like that is for your safety to light up those road signs on a dark road.
On H4 HIDs, its alot more pronounced, but believe it or not, the light pattern is 100% better than stock. There is more beam control on where its supposed to go on the road, and not all over the place reflecting from the bottom part of the housing which sends lights shooting skyward due to the contour of the lense which also refracts light up due to the curvature.

Yes, that's what I thought. What do you mean by "H4 HIDs" ,though ? Them blue tinted H4s or HID conversions. Again I don't see how changine the temperature of the light will affect beam pattern, real HID are a different story.

On a side note - cars imported from Japan, GB and other places where people dirve on a goofy(J/K) side of the road - their stock pattern is \----\ which makes them illegal in some countries without housing mods (like masked housings) since they blind oncoming traffic insted of lighting the signs etc.

Cars are supposed to have more light on the right side to see the road signs. Go to the BMW wedsite and look at the light pattern for the new 7 series headlights.

OIC...

Thanks everyone for clearing that up. I thought I was seeing slants and it wasn't the norm.
