2002 Remote Windows

I was reading in the newsgroups that there was a feature where you could hold your deactivate alarm button and all the windows would roll down. Hold down the activate button and the windows go up.

My dealer never mentioned this, so I guess I don't have it...or do I?

Has anyone found 'special features' on there 2k2? I still haven't heard how to make the doors lock automatically when the car gets to speed.

As far as I know, if you have a remote keyless entry for the 2002, you've got it. Not positive on your model, but I know on the 4th gens, hit the unlock button once to unlock the door. Then hit it again and hold it until the windows go down.

I'm sure it's in the owner's manual as well. The dealer probably didn't even know it existed! If you're looking for it on the 2000 or 2001, forget it, they got rid of it for those two years (Jerks!)

well for my car:
using the FOB- if you hold unlock, the windows will roll down for as longas you hold the button.. but sometimes I do it (probably improperly), and the windows go down just enough to "vent" the air..

also, using the key in the lock, if you hold the key in the unlock position, windows go down, and if you hold it in the lock position, windows go back up.

ABout the auto-lock feature, I thin kthe car will automatically lock under certain conditions.. sometimes I leave my doors unlocked and go into the house, and later on I will come back out and I will have to unlock the doors b/c they were locked...

Yep..you could also use the key on the driver side and turn it counter clock wise and the windows should go down.

Great!

Cool, great feature!

But, my car will not lock on its own...at all. My F-150 would not do this either, but someone found a procedure to turn it on by pressing the unlock/lock in a series.

Does anyone know how to trigger the autolock?

Are you refering to an autolock system that locks the doors when you are in the car driving? My friend has a new Explorer that locks the doors when you put the tranny in Drive. Is this the type of system you are refering to. If so, I have never heard of that on a Max, but there may be some code to set. I went through my manual and there is no reference to it however.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. On Fords you can turn it on or off. I would bet there has to be a way to set this.

How about me, you, and whoever on the board wants to trade in their car, go in on a GROUP trade and a GROUP DEAL on the 2K2 6spd? Sounds good to me.....

We could do it, I did it once when I bought 2 maximas at once, one for me, and one for a friend.

I say lets go!

Yeh, and no autolock feature, either. Would be nice, my Ford has it, but I've never seen it on the Max - sorry gang.
