Meguiars

another meguiars user here - yes it has UV protection, and you can pick it up just about any auto place or WalMart, Target, etc.

used it ever since consumer reports named it number 1 about
8 years ago.....use the cleaner/wax regularly (about 4
times per year) and every 1-2 years use #1 in the 3 step
cleaner system, the paint cleaner, then go over that with
the cleaner wax....works very well, though durability is
not the best

If you have not tried Zaino then your doing a great disservice to yourself. I was proud to sweat for hours on a three step Mothers process. Now with Zaino, it is a quick strip (Dawn dishwashing liquid or vinegar), precleaner, and wax without having to remove the precleaner. Wow and results are always 1st rate! Try www.zainobros.com

I use Meguiers Gold Class and it sure makes my Max look good. I used it on my black 1995 Mustang GT with outstanding results. However, it does need to be reapplied every couple months to keep the car looking good. I usually apply it 5 times a year. Gold Class dries quick and comes off easy. I hate carnuba based waxes because they are too hard to remove.

I also have used Meguiar and got good results. Tried Zaino just because I was curious. Zaino is nice, especially on darker colors. It is easy to put on, and smell nice :-).

I asked a professional detailer what I should use as a consumer and he said that the Meguiars Gold Class is the best all around wax for any color car. I asked about Ziano and whether it was "the best wax" or not and he said that it's good stuff, but totaly not worth the money. He said that if you were a classic car collector the Zaino MIGHT be worth it, but for consumers and normal cars, Zaino is a waste of money.

Bottom line from a professional - Meguiars Gold Class.

I wonder if consumer reports ever tested wax's durability and shine??

I used Meguiars and it did not last very long at all. We had a big rain storm and my car stopped beading up. I didn't even get to drive the car after I waxed it. I use IBIZ now but have a garage so it can't tell if it is the wax that is lasting longer.

Well, most professional detailers use cheap, but effective waxes, in order to maximize profits. They must still charge similar prices as others in field so as to not go defunct or bankrupt. Gold Class is a consumer wax that is made for general car care.....sold at any parts retailer....but you will get a superior and longer lasting finish from custom products that specialize like Zaino but it will cost you more. My car had 10k miles and almost a years use at the picture above, and still looks brand new. Oh.....its only been Zaino'd twice!!! Less time and better looks.....try it and you will be hooked but follow all directions.
