this will be the first winter that I've driven an automatic in for the last 15 years. Always felt comfortable with my 91 Celica GTS 5 spd...feel like I have way more control with a manual...

judging by how easy it is to spin my tires in the rain, it may be a long winter

well the 16's are okay but far from good and the 17's are terrible in the rain so you can just imagine what they're like in the snow. I would go as far as saying the car is almost undrivable in the snow with the 17's. I'm coming from an auto 4th gen Accord that had Blizzaks on 14" wheels for the winter so just about anything seems bad to me. Those snow's had unbelievable traction, there's no way to get stuck with them, they would just dig their way out of anything! If you don't want to get a set of steel rims to put snows on, just take it very easy!

i'm sure you'll do well in the snow if you got those snow tires with the lil, hard metalic studs built into them. those supposidly help alot where it's icey. i'm not too experienced with snow tho.. my car did fine in the snow last year, i'll see how it does this thanxgiving, hoping it snows.

man last year everytime there was snow and ice on the road it was ABS HELL. press on the break and tukkktuk tukkkk tukkk. haveing 17z wasn't fun. but give yourself plenty of time to stop. and keep your distance from other drivers. The Stock Bridgestones Grip good in the snow, its the breaking thats a little jumpy.

Last winter had 15" Pirelli snows on (96 SE), worked like a charm. One steep hill near my house there were about 5 cars trying to get up it, and my dearly departed went around them and chugged right up that hill. Course now I got 17" on the 2k, so we'll see what happens...

Lets prey for a mild winter here in the Northeast! With 17's, we need all the help we can get!

My only suprise was the interia of the car

I went from a honda, so... I could get around people that were stuck (even a 2wd Cherokee but man, you gotta think waaaaay ahead. This is in stock 16's with 1 foot of snow (unpacked). The funny thing is that I ran out of gas!!! I had a quarter tank and only 5 mile trip. But traffic was so bad, 45 mins later I was out of gas and had to park it at a mall. walked the last 1/2 mile home.

Just keep lots of gas in that pig..
