Service Engine Soon Code Info
Service Engine Soon Code Info
My 2000 SE threw a code this afternoon while shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. I hooked up my Snap On Scanner with a generic OBD II cartridge and received code "P1320". Does anyone have the service manual, and if so can they look up what that exact code means before I go to the dealer? Knowing how OBD II codes work, the number 1 means it is a mfg (Nissan) specific code and the number 3 means it is ignition or misfire. TIA.

Did you feel the engine lag or 'cut out'?

If the car is still running, it may be a spurious fault, so you can just reset with the scanner it and see if it returns. 'Hard' causes could be the harness connector (certainly not if the vehicle is still running), the power transistor built into the ignition coil (six to choose from), the crank sensor, crank senor circuit, or the condensor.

I guess I should take it to the idiots at Nissan to have it checked out and have them fix my bumper scratches and rotors at the same time. I have been avoiding taking the car in for service since I have been in "negotiations" with Nissan for almost a year now in regards to the fuel cut off problem. I was one of the original big time complainers about the fuel cut off, and had the car in the shop four times for that problem before the fuel cut TSB was released. Nissan is not easy to deal with and they are dragging out my "negotiations" as much as they can. Nissan is one of the worst car companies in terms of customer service unfortunately, and that is why I will not get another Maxima, even if that is an option for me at some point. Take care.
