I just had the windshield replaced on my 2k SE. I was shocked at the price! Here in Florida, state law requires insurance companies to pay the full cost (no deductable) of windshield replacement if its cracked, chipped, etc, etc. Mine was hit by a small stone, and chipped it with some very small cracks.

The total cost (using Nissan glass) was $902.94! The windshield alone was $764.60!

 

That is pretty harsh! Good thing I have full glass coverage on my insurance where I live. Now you only have to hope you don't develop any leaks or rattles because of this!

 

I know...I hope there are no rattles with it! Im also glad it didnt cost me a penny!

 

wow !!! state law requires insurance to pay for your windshield repairs ?? Good for u madmax !! I should've move to florida....

my windshield cracked few months ago too, had to pay for it myself.........dealer was asking $700 too.

 

The 3rd day i drove the car out i went to West jersey/pennslyvania area and went through some mountains. BAM there it was the biggest spider web crack on my windshield !! 3rd day, not even it was like the 2nd day and some hours.
I paid it out of my pocket to be replaced. 250 dollars aftermarket i believe.
The factory one was like 900 beans.

P.S. ANyone ever heard of AURORA 3000, its not a wax or silicone. its a chemical for making cars glass shine. well anyay i just put it on my hood and it was hard *** hell to take off. Its night, so i cant notice results.
Hopefully my hood will not be bleached tomm.

here in salt lake city we are currently undertaking the largest construction project in north america. they are replacing the entire interstate system through the valley all at once. in less than 4 years i have had to replace (to pass inspection) a total of 5 windsheilds. (on three cars)

 

Had to have my windshield replaced on my 2000 GLE in July after a tiny rock pinged dead center-couldn't stand the thought of this gorgeous car having an obvious imperfection! Price $555.24 with $250.00 deductible. Exact windshield, no problems!

Does make one wonder though, drove my 1978 280Z until October 1999 & never had to replace the windshield nor did it have any dings or cracks!

Denver, CO is like FL too. Because they can't use roadsalt and use gravel/sand everybody busts their windshield often.

Insurance companies are required to pick up the tab. My best friends 2000SE is on glass#2 already.

 

OMG I can't believe how much you guys pay for windshields! We don't have none of those state requirement & where they pay for glass replacement but I can get a new windshield for about $190 bucks ($230) if I want the tint across the top. And why would you guys go to the dealer to get this done? Fortunately there is a glass guy in the area where I work & he comes out to our company if we need our windows replaced. I need to do mine but am to lazy to pay for it right now. I dont have any cracks just major chips.

 

i have a problematic windshield like you guys. everyday i have to drive on the interstate to get to school (i live off campus) and everyday i hear rocks(pebbles) cracking against the windshield, i thought that for sure there must be some cracks or chips on the windshield after something hit it that hard, to my surprise, there was nothing. maybe nissan put the "wrong" windshield on my car, haha. well i shouldnt be so happy, windshield shattered on my old car twice, so i'm sure it will happen to my max.

 

I didnt go to the dealer...I had a mobile company come out and do it. But, I specified Nissan glass and moldings. The insurance company allows this. Yes, much cheaper glass is available, but I dont want that junk on a 2000 model year car! (Especially if I dont have to pay for it )
