Alignment Problems???

I finally had my car aligned AGAIN after hitting a friggin' closet door on the freeway. The wheels are straight and the tow is correct, but the steering wheel is still off center.

OR, IS THAT JUST ME???

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? And, if you are able to fix it yourself? In the good old days, the steering column was connected to the steering mechanism by two waffle-like plates. To fix your steering wheel problem, you just needed to loosen the bolts, center the wheel and tighten them back up again.

Unfortunately, I can’t get under my car at the moment. IT’S JUST TOO LOW!!! So, I haven’t been able to check it out myself. And, the alignment shop just played it off, saying I must have bent something underneath. I know, I know…they’re just jacking me around. But you all know...I DON’T WANT TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER!!!

Noooooooo... (Hands clutching side of head, pulling hair while falling to my knees!)

Appreciate any info as well as the sarcastic remarks about “being out of the closet" on the freeway and stuff. Yeah, whatever...
