Brake squeal first thing

OK. I have searched the past posts and am sure I must have missed it, or am I the only one with this problem.

After a cool night, when I drive off in the morning, the first 1-2 miles, if I step on the brake, there is a god awful high pitched squeal.

I have brought it to my mechanic and he says the brakes are fine, just a "Nissan" problem.

Has anyone been able to correct this yet?

I can't be the only one if it's a "Nissan" problem...

Brake squeel is fairly common with Nissan and all cars. It is more noticable after washing your car or if the rotors got wet and start to rust over. The noise is basically getting the rust off the rotors.

if it only happens when cold, then I wouldn't swaet it too much. Mine don't squeal, but they do 'chatter' when they are cold....

But ya gotta admit, nothing is more embarrasing than leaving your house, with neighbors admiring your Max and coming to the end of the driveway and SQUEAL!!!

Replace the rotors & pads and the squealing will go away for a while...

squealing brake pads!

Mine do it also, I'm pretty sure that I've read that this is caused by the addition of metal to brake pads. Brake manufacturers needed to cut down on asbestos use in the pads so they added metal...
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!
