Okay, here is the deal. I had a 96 SE, loaded, that I sold because I hit 100k. My wife wanted an Accord, so we bought a 99 EX 5spd. I have been in withdrawl since day one!

Now, my wife thinks the max is great, but she wants the Sterling Mist and is not convinced any other color will do. Well, I just found a gorgeous 2K1 GLE in Merlot and the price is WAAAAYYYYY good, and the money for my trade is good. She hasn't seen it (it is 250 miles away, but I have seen it) but thinks the color will not be good. I have done lots of searches, but have found only TWO members with pics of their Merlot Maxes, one an SE and one an AE.

Please, my purchase is RIDING ON THIS THREAD!! I need the MAX, so please post pics of your merlot car to convince my wife or I wont get my max!

The pictures don't really do justice to the Merlot paint. It is not monochromatic -- there are shiny flecks (kind of look like bits of mica) that show up in bright sun and under some streetlights.

 

Yeah, the color looks 'Pearl/Metallic' in person, tell that to your wife. I had a picture showing this, but it was too big to post..I can email it..
