What to buy??? Used R33 Skyline, New S4, or New M3???

I have a customer who just got a large insurance settlement and keeps bugging me about what to buy.
Please someone give me their opinion.
I vote for the R33

Tough Decision

I feel so bad that he has to make such a tough decision.

M3, the new one is amazing and more liveable than a skyline.

i'd say the M3 (300+ freakin' horses!) just don't get that nasty blue...

... with the R33 you'd look awesome, but you'll also have to drive on the right side, which isn't too bad, but takes a little getting used to.... unless of course they changed it to left-hand driver w/o me knowing...

Well since you considered an used car, I would have to throw the MKIV Supra TT. Even at relatively low modification levels, it will outperform even these high hp cars

i kind of like S4s better i wouldnt get the M3s b/c i dont like 2 doors and plus it gets terrible gas mileage. i dont know what the S4 gets but 16 mpg for an M3...my old explorer got that much.

R33

I'd go with the R33, with a turbo upgrade you can pump out insane amounts of HP. You wouldn't have to worry about losing to almost any car out there on the sreet.

m3
reasons
-i dont like the dated style of the r33
-m3 looks much flashier
-right handed drive? screw that

get a custom turbo for a m3 and you'll be killing everything.

If I had that much money, I would never ask people on the net for opinion because you are the one who is deciding what to get, not other people you don't even know!

You know how expensive aftermarket parts for the R33 would cost? I'd expect a lot, since most parts would have to come from Japan. International shipping is not cheap.

I'd vote for the M3 since it beats the others for power without any mods.

Now if you're talking an R-34 GT-R, that's a different opinion

I'ld say the R33 would turn more heads then a M3 anyday. The only problem. You break that thing, You Park it, b/c Parts are not easy to find for that bad boy. IN the U.S anyways.

about the v8 m3...yes, it HAS to come out soon. I believe the lemans series that uses production cars(gts? gt1? something like that) have v8 m3's this year and the rule is that you can use a new car for the races only if that car is going into mass production in the next two years. So, expect to see the v8 m3 in about 1-2 years. And their performance...they're beating out the porsches that used to win most of the time, and the only thing that porsche teams can hope for are the m3's to break down which they haven't so far. haha, sorry about digressing.

Oh, and my vote is for the new S4. They're getting a hp bump up to 280 and hopefully they'll make it lighter(doubt it). I love those S4's for some reason. Plus, doesn't the R33 and M3 have higher insurance costs?

He is flying out to Motorex next week to test drive an R33 (round trip ticket was only $220).
If he likes it he will be driving it back.
I have tried to talk him into a MKIV Supra but there are several around here (including mine).
There are also several S4's and a few M3's
But not one Skyline.
I wouldn't be surprised if he came home with an R34, he has the $$$ he just doesn't want to spend that much.

$80,000 ouch

This is what I would get

That is one awesome looking car in the attachment. Silvia S15? Your friend should buy that car instead of the others.

OK adding 2 more domestic cars to the mix.

Used low mileage Dodge Viper (9,000 miles)

Chevrolet Corvette Z06

I am changing my vote to the Viper

Why doesn't this guy just get a damn M5. 4 Doors, 400 HP, and 0-60 in 4.7 secs I believe. It's a V8 so almost all performance mods would be much more effecient than a smaller displacement engine. It's a damn fine luxury automobile too. Plus it's a frickin BMW M5!?!

Corvette is too common, even the Z06.
I would never buy a car that is as visible as the Viper. You can't park it anywhere without people messing with it.
If you get the R33, most folks won't know what it is or what it can do, so they won't care about it.
M5 is cool, too much of a family car though.

My vote is for the R33.
