Dropped it + painted front grill body color

1.) I dropped it with tien s-tech and kyb Gr-2, the ride is amazing , soft but stiff at the same time .... I love it. Not to stiff as to before were the car skips and slids on the highway, but its stiff to hug the road tight, and bumps around town feel good.
- Prior to this I had tein H and tokico blues, ride was bad , on bumps it sounded like my dash was going to fall apart, way to stiff. I think it was cause of the struts....
-I couldn't decided what to buy, at first i wanted coilovers but read about the problem ppl have and I changed my mind, also when I had my 4th gen I had sprints and gr2's and loved the ride, even tho ppl told me it wont last it did for over 20k
-I know most of you are gona tell me the gr-2s will blow, but they have a warrenty and i figured id give it a try.
( i also just put it all on 15 minutes before this pic so they arent settled yet)

2.) The front grill came out good, but could be better, i gotta say painting is hard and takes practice . I did ok, messed up in one spot cause i tried picking up a piece of dirt that got stuck to the wet paint (real dumb idea ) nothing to noticable from 3 ft away or more hehe . Also my clear didnt come out so hot, I dripped alil on the flat top parts of the grill and also have some orange peel but im going to try wet sanding , compound and polish, if anyone has any tips on how i can fix it please post.

This is the site i got the paint from, almost near perfect match.

so the stechs are more comfortable to you than the htechs? That has to be because your htechs were paired with blues. Otherwise htechs should offer a slightly better if not equal ride as the stechs

From the pics your car still looks like its on htechs...stechs should be much lower

ya they wre put on about 15 min before that pic so im sure thy will settle more.

maxspeed96ct. your max looks good! Glad to hear you like the S.tech/gr2 combo! I too have the S.tech/gr2 combo and really have not experienced any problems so far and I have had them on for about 3 1/2 years now (approx 40k miles). Sometimes I feel like one of those bobble heads on people's dashboards when going over certain humps and bumps! But nonetheless, I love the overall look of the S.techs and ride quality is pretty smooth as long as the roads are not too bad! I must agree with you about the H.tech/blues combo, as my cousin has a 5th gen with that same setup and you're right it sounds like the dash is going to pop out of place when you hit a bump. The H.techs paired with Tokico Blues imo give a much more harsh ride compared to S.tech/gr2 combo! Sounds like it must be the blues as they give out a more stiff ride than the gr2!

Anyway nice setup, keep us posted as they settle and how you like them after the first few thousand miles!

Peace!

Nice! Starting to look a lot like my old max. Try painting the engine cover as well. Looks great with Merlot. Here's what it looked like:

looks good. i have h-techs and blues. and i think they ride pretty good. i dont bottom out unless i hit a huge bump going 70mph. but in slower speeds its not bad. ride is not harsh its nice and smooth.

Looks great. Usually I don't like the way the cars look when the grille matches the car, but your's is done quite well. Let us know how the ride feels after a while. I'm looking to lower mine, but funds is mostly the issue right now.

That looks real nice, how much did you spend on the suspension setup as I am contemplating doing something with mine? I like the matched grille as well, nice touch.

Painting the grille the same color as the car is the way to go! I was involved in a hit and run and the grille was a bit scraped, so I had my shop paint it to match the car. It looks great! (granted I am sterling mist which is the closest color to the grille before painting) Its classier and cleaner looking im my opinion.
