Update: Later guys

I posted a thread in early Sept about how my car got rear-ended while I was at a stop light. Insurance called it a total loss and I was debating what I was going to do with the car.

Well.. after much debate.. I decided to take the $11,900 from the insurance company and hand over the keys. It wasnt easy.. in fact..if I wasn't moving the same time all this happened, I think I would have kept the car. Between trying to sell our co-op, closing on the house, moving, getting homeowners insurance, and working 40hrs a week, I just didnt have time to deal with a crashed car.

It was an '01 SE which I got in '03 with 22k for $14,999.
It has 54000miles and I got $11,900 today. not bad.

So the "check is in the mail" and Im expecting a call from the salvage yard to come get her.

So two nights ago.. I took my 200x4 amp out from under the car seat and accepted the fact that she is gone. I took her out across the street.. and did what I always wanted to do..

rev up to 5500, neutral drop---around a corner (FWD always spin better when the wheels are turned). Max lit up the Turanza LSV's for 50yrds or better and gave off everyones favorite smell of burnt rubber. I had no idea she could smoke em like that.

(off topic--I loved the all-season Bridgestone Turanza LSV's,225/50/17)..

I may have to do that again before the tow truck comes for her.

anyway guys---I didnt post all that much.. I threw in my sarcasm every now and then.. but this was a great place for info and mostly friendly people here.

Im not sure what Im getting next as two mortgage payments are preventing me from getting new car right now... but it def won't be a newer Max.. I dont like the 6th gen.

Catch you guys later.

Bones.

Good luck and $11900 is a great price for that car. There are lots of 5.5 gens out there for $11900 or cheaper with the same or just a little more miles. Might want to consider going that route.
