when changing the guage cluster is there any way to keep your correct milage?

I found some old links on older cars but they were all dead

 

i assume the dealer could do that for you, 'for a small fee'. But without taking that route, i know you have to swap out the circuit boards. There was a link on the stickies, not sure if it works or not. g'luck.
