So much arguing I thought this was a community?! M1RAG3, if you have it replaced at a Nissan dealership (just in case you were wondering I know I'm gonna get harassed for this post) it cost me around $650 bucks for alternator and timing belts to be replaced... but you see I had Rich do it (I work at a Nissan Dealership fyi) who has 37 years Nissan experience and he's expensive lol. And I had to go through Service because the car wasn't 'bought' yet... lol It had to be replaced and up to a standard for the car to be sold to me so it had to be done, and I didn't pay anywhere near KBB so... Yeah.

the maxima uses a timing chain that does not need to be replaced. this is a fact for the 4th gen and i believe it is still true for the 5th gen
