replaced the lights on the door with led's but have a little problem need help

I recently replaced the bulbs on the door lights with LED's. 2LED's on each light with a 220ohm resistor, it looked great but for one problem. The lights stay on very dim (only visible at night) and is on only when the engine is off. I thought it will go away after a while but it stayed on the whole night so i replaced them with the old bulbs it didnt happen with the old bulbs so is it normal or did something went wrong only happened with the led's
thanks
D

Mine do the same. I bought some LED wedge style bulbs on ebay and they do stay on. And I think the same goes for my main interior light. Very dimly but I can tell a difference when on the main interior light when I set the switch to the off position

For me, I know it happens when I arm my alarm (locked).

thanks guess maybe the led's can work on a very small voltage but what concerns me is that can it drain the battery?

Thats strange. Make sure the door is closed tight. I have leds in my doors and I'm pretty sure they are not lit at night when I have all the doors closed and I hit the lock button.

Same thing happend to me when I installed my door LED's. They stay on but are very dim. Also when I get in the car in the morning (it's pitch black out) my seatbelt light is on very dim too. I replaced the LED's with normal bulbs and the issue went away. Strange.

It's called ground loop, in other words the bulbs you bought are cheap. Dont be lazy, do some research and make some custom LED boards to fit your lights.

I made custom LED boards for mine so thats probably why I don't experience the same problem.

i made my own there some pics of it but i bought the LED's off ebay 100 of them for $12 so guess the LED's are poor quality. the reason was the radioshack bulbs were too much and not that bright
