I've got a bad gas smell since a while now. It dosn't seem to mater if the the tank is full or 1/4 full. There is no sign of a gas leak. I can't see any wet spots or signs of any old wet spots on the sides or bottom of the tank. The smell is there even when the car is sitting on a warm day. Any ideas?

 

had the same problem with my 96 max the rubber fuel lines under the hood started to leak and needed to be replace which gave me the gas smell in the car may be your problem just check engines in the 95 and 2001 shouldn't be that different just a thought good luck
