Clutch..& so POP POP

Well i tackled doing my clutch this week. Now the clutch is in .. But ...

1. the clutch pedal is spongy. and it only has pressue like 2 inces off the floor. Im thinking all it needs is a Clutch bleed ?

2. When i was driving home ... the car was backfiring like crazy ! i was shifting between 2-3k and POP POP POP POP... so i stopped at a light and revved it... It STRUGGLES to rev from 2k to likt 4.5k.. after 4.5k it revves freely. Im thinking since i had the battery unpluged for more then 2 days can the computer be relearning or something ?

clutch def. needs to be bled.. make sure u can the slave as well
backfire is def. bad.... u might have a few codes as your cat might be toast and give u more restrictions in your exhaust
shouldn't need relearning.. it should run at a safe level, but this must mean it's really rich...

Check your coils and your MAF. Clutch needs to be bled after your clutch job.

clutch was jsut bleed. still feels soft. SOFTER then OEM clutch. this is a stage 2 SPEC.

car is revving VERY sluggish ! then opens up after like 4.5k. i found no loose vacuums.
what i dont understand is why all of a sudden after the battery beign disconnected will the car drive this way.

The car is Backfiring and the exhasut is poping like NEVER before !! i mean it goes PPPPOOOOPPPP when i **** at 2-3k !! wtf !

I think those things show up on the code list with a scan tool? I know it does on some vehicles.

Thanks, and yes i recently got a on and off check engine light.

Quick question. I had my flywheel resurfaced. Now they guy who resurfaced it told me he put some oil or something on it jsut so it doesnt rust, and told me to clean it off with brake cleaner b4 i install it. Well durign the install i didnt have any brake cleaner so i just took a rag and cleaned it off. I feel like my clutch ISNT grabbing for some reason. Can it be that .. if so do you guys think itll eventually get better ?

Are you still tuned from with that other persons A/F? I would adjust those tuning points back to 0 first.

What were the codes?

My cars been acting weird since I disconnected my battery to change the header gaskets. I think my MAF is on its way out. It sometimes acts like its about to die after start up, idles in 500's then creeps back up. Oh and you were right....the leaks still there. Sorry to sort of thread jack.

Hope you figure it out

ur clutch isn't grabbing with a new clutch? should have more than enough pressure to grab easily... and u said your pedal is soft.. pedal softness doesn't have to do anything with flywheel. again, did you bleed from both bleeder valves, starting from lower one first

forgot... there should be a thread about checking the coils.
u have to have a meter and seems like a pain, but saves u money
it's kinda long too. hope it wasn't lost when forums were down.
search for ignition coils

and yes your car will run with the battery disconnected after it has started. the battery there is only to start; thereafter, the alternator runs the car, with voltmeter of course. so, if it's disconnected, alternator will always be running so your car stays alive

Yes i put the A/F all back to 0. My leak is gone since i had the headers surfaced.

the car revs FREE when in neutral but once im driving under load it struggles kinda to rev up. i mean itll get to reline.. but its SOOO SLUGGISH..

Do you have updated coils? What code are you throwing? and.... Is the "sluggishness" a hesitation? will your feel like its almost bucking under acceleration? It sounds like a coil problem but if you get some more info on it, we can pin point it exaclty

Yea like it hesitates 99% of the time.. like i take off the line itll hesitate to rev up then it finally will... but if i got WOT its rev REAL slow... like it has NO power.. Yes almost like im bucking for a quick second. There ALOT i mean ALOT of POPING from the exhaust now, like im shifting at 3k and it just POPs real LOUD .. im so frustrated with this right now.

The thign is this happen RIGHT after the clutch install and the battery was disconnected for 48hours. I dont know if it has something to do with that. Because b4 i started working on it.. it was reving up and running GREAT.
